The GAMeC CentroArteModerna of Pisa is pleased to announce the welcome return of Marta Della Croce, a Pisan artist of rare expressive intensity, who after years of creative silence returns to exhibit in her hometown with a personal exhibition with the evocative title: "Lo chiamerò vivere".

Curated by Maria Rita Montagnani, the exhibition that will open on Saturday, September 27 at 5:00 pm, presents a selection of about twenty works, some large, that testify to the artistic and human path of a shy but powerfully eloquent figure. Marta Della Croce's canvases are inhabited by enigmatic characters, immersed in uncomfortable or impossible actions, which become a metaphor for a profound exploration of the human soul.

The exhibition will be open to visitors in the historic spaces of the GAMeC CentroArteModerna in Pisa, directed by Massimiliano Sbrana, on Lungarno Mediceo 26, until 8 October 2025 with free entry.

Opening hours:
Tuesday-Saturday from 10am -12:30pm and 4:00pm-6:30pm;
Extraordinary opening Sunday 28 September and 5 October 2025 4:00pm-6:30pm;
Closed onMonday .

Marta Della Croce
Born in Vecchiano in 1949, where she still resides, Della Croce graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1973. From the very beginning, he showed a marked sensitivity for European pictorial currents — from Cubism to Expressionism, to Surrealism — synthesizing them in a personal, restless and Saturnine language, which evolved over time towards an open and metaphorical figuration.
His art is not limited to talking about man, but speaks in man, digging with surgical precision into the most intimate fragilities, anxieties and contradictions. Like an archaeologist of the soul, the artist brings to light what we often keep buried, with a refined and unmistakable style that makes her a unique voice in the contemporary landscape.
Among his most significant experiences are the mural works created for the churches of Sant'Alessandro a Vecchiano between 1988 and 1992, evidence of a painting that also knows how to dialogue with spirituality and the sacred.

An unmissable opportunity to rediscover an authentic protagonist of Italian contemporary art.
