*UPDATING*

On Sunday, November 8th, "Libertas Pisarum" will be celebrated. Feast of the Second Pisan Republic" at the Citadel Fortress.

The event, promoted by the Municipality of Pisa –Department of Traditions of History and Identity of Pisa – and the Crossbowmen of Porta San Marco, aims to celebrate the proclamation of the Second Pisan Republic on November 9, 1494, a symbolic day of freedom and autonomy for the city.

PROGRAMME

Saturday, November 7th

• 5.30 pm  - Inauguration of the Pisan ceramics exhibition by the authorities – Conference “From earthenware to English use to the rediscovery of Pisan traditions” – speaker Giuseppe Favilli, introduction by Massimo Del Grande. Beginning of the itinerant route;

Sunday, November 8th

• 10 am - 1 pm – Visit to the exhibition of Pisan ceramics and the Military Praesidium;
• 3 pm – Opening of visits to the Exhibition and the Military Praesidium;
• 4 pm – Scenographic entertainment welcoming King Charles VIII with standard-bearers and musicians. Delivery of the keys to the Old Citadel to the Pisan Militias;
• 4.30 pm – news on the Republican Arsenals – Meeting with the Arch. Isabella Giannettoni;
• 5 pm – Awards ceremony for the “Silver Crossbow” second edition 2026; 
• 6 pm –  Event closing.
