From Saturday 28 June to Monday 28 July 2025 Aorta Gallery hosts "I Am The State", an immersive solo exhibition by Vlad Bokhan, a dissident and political activist originally from Belarus. An uncompromising exploration of power, identity and rebellion. Political art in Pisa.
Along with the exhibition, it will be possible to play the popular table satire Turbo populisti by Marco Alfieri, available in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.
On display works ranging from the first works of the artist - made in the period when he still believed in a "popular revolution" - to subsequent ones, which reflect the existential path of the inner revolution. Because without a revolution within each individual, a true change in society is impossible.
As part of the exhibition, we will also be showing the famous video Helmet of the Motherland, with the iconic foil helmets. And it will be possible to get one of these magical helmets with a donation in support of the Belarusian Anarchist Black Cross.
