The Verdi Theatre beyond the boxes and the stalls: Pisa's most important theatre inaugurates a new season dedicated to guided tours to offer citizens and tourists the chance to get to know and experience this magical place from a new perspective, among halls and rooms not always open to the public.
The Verdi Theatre guides will illustrate to visitors the history of the monument among collections, archive documents and memories of personalities and artists who have written important pages here.
Guided tours will begin on Saturday 15 March and will be held every Saturday morning with three shifts, each lasting 45 minutes and reserved for a maximum of 25 participants per shift: first shift at 10 a.m., second shift at 11 a.m., third shift at 12 noon.
Individual visitors or groups will be able to purchase tickets from Saturday 8 March. Tickets are on sale at the Botteghino del Teatro, by phone at 050 941188 or at www.vivaticket.it.
Visits to the theatre can only be made after purchasing an entrance ticket, and there are three price bands: full price 7 euro (individuals and groups), reduced price 5 euro (under 12, students, over 65), reduced price 3 euro (school groups).
Schools and associations can book the visit by emailing info@teatrodipisa.pi.it.
The Verdi Theatre will also be included in the tourist itineraries of groups visiting Pisa and Tuscany thanks to the collaboration with the main associations of professional tourist guides.
NB: the route of the visit is not free of architectural barriers, therefore it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties; visits may be subject to changes in route or may be cancelled for technical or artistic reasons (in the case of rehearsals or performances). In the event of cancellation, tickets will be refunded.
