On Saturday 24 May 2025 at 5.30 p.m., at the historical spaces of the GAMeC CentroArteModerna in Pisa (Lungarno Mediceo, 26), the exhibition ‘Itinerari Artistici Pisani’ (Pisan Artistic Itineraries), conceived, curated and arranged by Massimiliano Sbrana, will kick off. A fascinating journey through Pisan art of the past and present, with works ranging from the early 20th century to the present day.
This important exhibition is a true showcase of the city's artistic evolution, offering a comprehensive overview of its expressive richness. Thanks to the collaboration with the ARCHIVIO d'ARTE collection of the GAMeC in Pisa, the exhibition becomes a unique opportunity to celebrate the local artistic heritage and recognise both the individual and collective value of Pisan artists.
With their works, artists of the second half of the 20th century experimented with a wide range of techniques and languages, helping to define a varied and constantly changing artistic landscape. Through this exhibition, the aim is to trace the creative paths of these artists, highlighting connections and differences between their expressions, thus outlining the profile of a Pisan Artistic Movement that, although not always at the centre of critical attention, has left a significant mark on the history of art. The selected works offer a wide-ranging and in-depth view of multiple artistic interpretations, including natural and urban landscapes, depictions of the human figure, abstract and surrealist compositions, through to works of social denunciation and spiritual introspection. This thematic variety not only enriches the exhibition, but also allows visitors to embark on an immersive journey through the different perspectives of Pisan artists.
"Itinerari Artistici Pisani" therefore takes the form of an exhibition project celebrating the vibrancy and originality of local art, inviting the public to discover and appreciate the beauty and complexity of Pisa's artistic heritage. Each edition of the exhibition becomes an open window on the creative world of Pisa, testifying to the importance and lasting impact of the artists involved. An experience that is not limited to the aesthetic aspect, but also offers a reflection on the historical and cultural context in which the works were born, thus allowing a deeper understanding of art and its evolution in the city.
