From Friday 9 May to Sunday 25 May, the Bastione del Parlascio will host the exhibition “Libro d'artista” (Artist's Book) with fifty works, mostly by Silvia Fossati and Anna Maria Masoni. Since the genesis of the book as a printed product in the 15th century, artists have played an active role in illustrating it. In the 20th century, with the avant-gardes, books were born as real art objects.
They are works of art that break the mould of the book object, combining artistic languages and different materials, in which matter expresses itself and the book acquires meaning beyond plots, stories and words. Books with tin pages, covers tightened with bolts, in blown glass, with sand, unusual printing characters, collage, and many other techniques.
Can be visited during the opening hours of the Walls, included in the price of the entrance ticket to the monument.
