Amico Museo.Spring air in the Tuscan museums, is back, an initiative promoted by the Tuscany Region, now in its XXII edition. From May 9 to June 2, 2025, the museums of Tuscany welcome the invitation of the Region to open their doors to welcome young and old with guided tours, extraordinary exhibitions, workshops, animations; many different activities united by an identical passion: promote our cultural heritage with proposals that involve visitors in creative experiences. 

Also this year the University of Pisa’s Museum System participates in the initiatives with a rich program of events. The programme of all SMA museum initiatives is being updated.

  • Wedsnesday 13 May. 5 p.m. - presentation of the exhibition "The seals of Al Tikha. Archaeological discoveries in Oman of the Universities of Pisa and Sultan Qaboos", https://www.turismo.pisa.it/eventi/I-sigilli-di-Al-Tikha;
  • Wednesday 21 May 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. - international conference "Between Mountains and Sea: Archaeological Discoveries in the Rustaq Region" - free event without reservation;

MUSEUM OF HUMAN ANATOMY (Massart Hall, Medical School of Via Roma 55)

  • Friday 30 May 2025,4 p.m. - "Andrea Cesalpino in the 500th anniversary of his birth" by the director of the museum prof. Gianfranco Natale. Following guided visit to the museum of Human Anatomy "Filippo Civinini". Free event without reservation.

ANATOMICAL VETERINARY MUSEUM (Viale delle Piagge 2)

  • Friday 16 May, 5 p.m. - "The animals of the happy farm!". Activities for families (children aged 5-8 years). Reservation required by writing to: info.mav@sma.unipi.it;

MUSEUM OF PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY (Via dei Macelli 2b-Via Nicola Pisano)

  • Tuesday 13 May, 5 p.m. - presentation of the book "Le sepolture aristocratiche della sacrestia di San Domenico Maggiore (secoli XVII-XVIII)" by Gino Fornaciari. Following guided tour of the exhibition "Secrets of the body. A journey into human anatomy through medicine and archaeology", free event with reservation info.map@sma.unipi.it.

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM (via Roma 79 - 56011 Calci, Pisa)

  • Sunday, May 18, 2025 - From 10.00 to 20.00 (last entry at 19.15) will be possible to access the Museum with a discounted ticket (full ticket 7 euro; reduced ticket (3-18 years) 3 euro; free for children under 3 years and for the categories provided by the Museum’s tariff list).
    With your ticket you can visit the permanent exhibitions, the Aquarium and the temporary exhibition "Dinosaurs".
    No reservation is required for admission.
