Scorcio via Minorca (L. Corevi, Comune di Pisa)
Between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, Marina di Pisa had a great development as a seaside resort. Many villas and houses built in that period have an eclectic style that combines tradition with decorative elements of various kinds, up to experimenting with modern styles and primarily Art Noveau. The most representative buildings are the villa in via Minorca, Villa Albites in Via Ivizza, Villa Galli Dunn, known as Villa Cobianchi (corner between Via Ivizza and Via dell'Ordine di Santo Stefano), Villa Allegrini (between Via Duodi, Via dell'Ordine and Via Minorca), the school building named after Giuditta Newbery (a Roman noblewoman who moved here in 1902 and had the first school built there in 1915), the chalet at number 6 in Via Orlandi, the small Villa Tobler and Villa Maroncelli on the waterfront.
