Evening of great wines and cinema at the Nunziatina. Friday, August 25, from 8p.m., the historic garden in the city center will offer a very special tasting, organized in collaboration with the FISAR (Pisa Historical Delegation) and the Cineclub Arsenale. For the occasion will be screened some scenes of 4 films in which wine is the protagonist on the big screen; will follow the tasting of 4 labels and 4 gastronomic proposals combined with bottles.

We will start with "Finché c'è prosecco c'è speranza", by Antonio Padovan, a mystery based on the novel by Fulvio Ervas, in which Giuseppe Battiston plays Stucky, a half-Venetian and half-Persian inspector who investigates a series of murders. The only suspect, the late Count Desiderio Ancillotto, a great winemaker who seems to have taken his own life by staging a picturesque and theatrical suicide. You will taste Prosecco Superiore DOCG 2022 (MoretVini), in combination with a pinzimonio with orange citronette.

Second taste of Alexander Payne’s "Sideways" movie. Miles, an aspiring novelist and wine connoisseur, decides to take a trip with his best friend Jack, a failed actor, through the vineyards of the Santa Ynez Valley, the week before Jack marries. A film where friendship is the bittersweet reflection on continuing to be young "newbies" or appreciate the pleasures of maturity. The wine chosen for this film is Pinot Noir 2018 (Robert Mondovi), to be tasted with a mini platter of cold cuts.

"Un'ottima annata" for Ridley Scott. Max Skinner is a skilled banker specializing in financial transactions. The sudden death of the old uncle Henry leads him to Provence and among the vineyards of the estate he finds the flavors of his past, the faithful vigneron of his uncle and discovers those of his future, the illegitimate daughter of the deceased and the innkeeper, Fanny Chenal, who will inebriate him more than one wine "boutique". Luberon Rouge AOC 2021 (Château La Canorgue) with beef tartare.

Grand finale of the evening with Mondovino by Jonathan Nossiter. The French-American documentary filmmaker makes a journey among the winegrowers of the Napa Valley of California, France and Italy, famous for the quality of their products. In this way, it highlights the contrast between the large groups that have taken possession of an important part of the production and those who defend, with tenacity but also with difficulty, the designations of origin. Taste of Malvasia di Bosa (Vigne Silattari), combined with almond ice cream, oil and pepper.
