ALL ABOARD, LET'S SET SAIL TOGETHER! Workshops and visits for families with children
Activities for families with children at the Museum of Ancient Ships in Pisa
Sundays at 15:30
Information
Workshops and visits for families with children aged 7 and up at the Museum of Ancient Ships in Pisa
Every Sunday at 15:30
Workshops and guided tours for children with our didactically experienced archaeologists and museum tours for adults: a special proposal for families with children aged 7 to 12.
While the little ones visit the museum, with its perfectly preserved ancient vessels, and take part in a beautiful educational workshop, their parents can in turn take part in the scheduled guided tour. A different workshop will be offered each week.
MARCH 2023
5 March → 'Etruscan Pisa: writing'
Let's discover together the secrets of this ancient language, trying to write and engrave words on ceramic fragments using the Etruscan alphabet!
12 March → "May Neptune help us".
Roman seafarers had many protective deities, such as Neptune, Venus, the Nereids, Hercules and many others. We will learn about shipboard cults and superstitions and make amulets and objects related to sea rituals.
19 March → "All together at the museum: celebrate Father's Day at NAP!"
We look forward to a special afternoon of fun and discovery for families: a guided tour for all ages and a workshop to discover the secrets of fishing in antiquity where we will build hooks and floats, modelled on those found during the excavations of the Ships.
26 March → "Ancient Games"
What were the toys of Roman children? Among the cargoes of shipwrecked boats, some terracotta ones were found, such as a whistle in the shape of a bird. Let's have fun reconstructing it using moulds and clay.
