In Pisa, New Year's Eve doubles. Waiting for the New Year becomes an opportunity to dance and celebrate also on the evening of 30 December. In fact, there are two events in music scheduled in Piazza dei Cavalieri with some of the most popular artists and DJs. The double date, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 December, desired by the Municipality of Pisa, tourism and youth policy departments, will be free admission. The events are in collaboration with STEP. Presenting the double evening at a press conference this morning were the tourism councillor Paolo Pesciatini and the youth policy councillor Frida Scarpa.

On Saturday 30 December (starting at 9.30 p.m.), the "Pisa Next Year Contest" will take place, with young local emerging artists between dance and music taking the stage in Piazza dei Cavalieri, who will have the opportunity to make themselves known to the general public. This will be followed by a DJ-set by one of the best-loved artists on the Italian music scene, Samuel DJSET from Subsonica.

On Sunday 31 December, the large stage in Piazza dei Cavalieri will host (starting at 10 pm) the DJ-set by Albertino from Radio Deejay and M2O, Fabri Fibra's show case, and the DJ-set by Ricky Le Roy from Metempsicosi. At the stroke of midnight, then space for the traditional fireworks from the Ponte di Mezzo, visible from the Lungarni.

Selections are underway these days to take part in the "Pisa Next Year Contest" that will see musical and dance groups, selected by a specific jury, perform on stage. Young talents who want to take part in the selections can email a video of their performance to the contest's artistic direction (at gianlucadelcarlo7423@gmail.com) no later than 6 p.m. on Saturday 23 December.
