On Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, at 9:00 p.m. at Parco delle Concette in Pisa, there will be a presentation of SEQUOR – Pisa and the Mediterranean, a project by Parallelo Dance in collaboration with the City of Pisa and Fondazione Pisa. Partners in the initiative include Cinema Arsenale and MistralMouvemntArt.
SEQUOR – Pisa and the Mediterranean is an artistic and cultural project that aims to explore Pisa’s rich history through a symbolic journey through time, blending memory, art, and performance.
The performance will be conceived as a grand theatrical allegory: an emotional journey spanning eras from the 12th century (the Middle Ages) to the 18th century (the Romantic era), unfolding along the 120-meter stretch of the walls of Parco delle Concette—a site in Pisa that was once the scene of battles around the year 1400. The stage will feature diverse characters and atmospheres: theater, dance, circus arts, music, and storytelling will intertwine in an immersive and contemporary production. Accompanying the dancers/actors’ journey will be video projections on the park’s walls along the entire narrative route, featuring evocative images that will reconstruct settings, landscapes, works of art, and visions of the Mediterranean, transforming the performance into a sensory and cultural experience. Each narrative scene along the route will guide the audience through the history of Pisa, showing how the city has built an identity over the centuries based on the encounter between cultures, knowledge, and creativity.
