On Saturday 25 April, to mark Liberation Day, a night-time tour featuring film screenings that recount the events of the Second World War in Pisa, from the initial enthusiasm at the country’s entry into the war through to the bombing of 31 August 1943, the German occupation, the resistance of the Casarosa partisan brigade, the city divided in two by the Arno front line, the cathedral flooded with displaced people, the fire at the Camposanto Monumentale, the Nazi round-ups, right up to 2 September 1944, when the Allied front crossed the Arno and liberated the city.

Thanks to silent headphones, participants will be immersed in an engaging experience, an event in collaboration with Acquario della Memoria

Departure at 9 pm from Torre Piezometrica (Porta Pacis near the Polo Fibonacci) and arrival at approximately 10.30 pm in Piazza dei Miracoli. 
Repeat performance on Saturday 2 May.

  • The ticket includes access to the walls and the evening tour
  • Audio guide available in Italian only
  • The tour will be cancelled in the event of bad weather, with the event rescheduled
  • The walk is approximately 2 kilometres long

ACCESSIBILITY
Visitors with disabilities may use the lift at Torre Piezometrica (please notify us in advance at m.pezzini@coopculture.it and muradipisa@coopculture.it), as there is no lift at Torre Santa Maria.
