The Cultural Association Chi vuol esser lieto sia... presents ‘IL SALOTTO MUSICALE VIII edizione’ under the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa.

The Salotto Musicale is a project born in 2015 from an idea of Anna Ulivieri and Chiara Tarantino, in collaboration with the Department of Civilisations and Forms of Knowledge, the University Museum System and the Gipsoteca.

These are not just chamber music concerts, but windows onto different eras and places where the drawing room, in the broadest sense, remains one of the most lively cultural scenes.

The compositions are original or presented according to arrangements made by the musicians themselves in a desire to recreate the atmosphere and spirit that has always animated music-making.

Music meets the other arts and disciplines of knowledge for a dialogue between centuries and cultures, from antiquity to the present day, in search of the origins, showing man's indissoluble bond with the earth understood as mother nature and native soil, with the sea that both separates and unites, a mirror reflecting the temperaments and feelings of the peoples living on its shores, and with music that is the lingua franca with which to express them.

The general objective is the promotion of culture, of the territory with its historical, architectural and natural wealth, its products and its artists.

Below are all the appointments:

SATURDAY 15 MARCH at 4.30 p.m. - Gipsoteca di Arte Antica a Antiquarium

"IN PRINCIPIO ERA IL CAOS", in collaboration with GiArA - Gipsoteca di Arte Antica e Antiquarium of the University of Pisa and the MARSIA laboratory of the Department of Civilisations and Forms of Knowledge, with Anna Ulivieri - flute, Stefano Quaglieri - guitar, Rodolfo Baglioni and Sara Bedarida - reciting voices and author, and the installation “Desire Probe” by visual artist Francesco De Conno.

An artistic project resulting from the encounter between the musicians and Sara Bedarida, a DAMS student from Turin and director, who, inspired by a piece they performed, completes a text she had begun to write years earlier. Live musical interventions, interpretations and readings with the involvement of actor Rodolfo Baglioni, for a journey in search of the meaning of existence between Greek mythology, monotheistic religions of the origins and modernity, with references to literature, science and theatre.

At the end of the performance a tasting by Apicoltura il Dolce Ronzio.

Admission € 15, free 0 - 18 years.

SUNDAY 6 APRIL at 5 p.m. - Museo delle Navi Antiche di Pisa

"ONDE", by NAYS traditional and folk-inspired music with Anna Ulivieri - flute, Dario Paganin - voice, string instruments and percussion, and Massimo Signorini - accordion, with the participation of singer-songwriter Matilde Rosati.

A concert entirely dedicated to the sea with songs from different eras, from folk, to Neapolitan tradition, to Italian singer-songwriting, to the progressive rock of Procol Harum. To embellish the project, in the already evocative context of the Alkedo ship's hall, there will be an exhibition of mixed-media works by the independent Turin artist Lucia Mariella Genovese, the projection of the video art short film ‘Thalassa’ written and directed by the young Pisan director Sara Bedarida, and an installation curated by the same artist.

At the end of the concert a tasting by Gelateria De'Coltelli.

Admission, including museum ticket and concert contribution, full price € 18, reduced € 12, free 0 - 18 years.

SUNDAY 25 MAY at 9 p.m. - Domus Mazziniana

"TERRA", by NAYS traditional and popular music with Annarita Dallamarca - soprano, Anna Ulivieri - flute, Dario Paganin - voice, string instruments and percussion, and Massimo Signorini - accordion.

A journey made up of songs that give an image, almost a photograph, of the era and the land where they were born, Italy. Since music has always mirrored the society in which it was born, it recounts facts, expectations, instances, feelings, cultures and creates a bridge between the present and the past, thus preserving memory.

At the end of the concert a tasting by Pasticceria Artigiana Dolci.

Admission € 15, free 0 - 18 years.
