On Saturday, 6 December, at 4:30 p.m., at the SMS Library, there will be a staged reading entitled ‘Boccaccio and the Art of the Hoax’ to mark the 650th anniversary of Giovanni Boccaccio's death.
Admission is free, no reservation required, subject to availability.
The show will feature Day VIII - Novella 3 ‘Calandrino and the Heliotrope’ from the Decameron: a story steeped in wit, irony and humour that comes to life thanks to a unique theatrical narration.
The performance will be enriched by musical interludes for an intimate and evocative atmosphere.
The event will open with institutional greetings from Filippo Bedini, Councillor for Culture, and an introduction by Ester Baldi of the Ente Nazionale Giovanni Boccaccio. Dramatic reading by Oranona Teatro.
