The '110 Hertz' Festival returns to the green areas around the Villa Medicea in Coltano!

The event, now in its fourth edition, will take place on 4,5,6, and 7 July, featuring art, live performances, live radio, workshops, crafts, and street food, in complete respect of the surrounding environment. The festival will start from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The focus is on the village of Coltano, a rural centre immersed in the nature of the San Rossore Park, on the outskirts of Pisa, a place characterised by a rich and interesting history - as it was the location chosen by Guglielmo Marconi for his experiments and for the construction of the famous Radio Station, from which the scientist transmitted for the first time a radio message that crossed the ocean, marking a revolution in terms of communication - and which, however, over time, has experienced a progressive depopulation and the abandonment of many of the historical buildings that constitute and surround it. It aims to combine the themes of art in nature, radio as a tool for relationships and live performance as a glue for sociality.

The festival has three main lines that represent its essence: radio as a means of communication and relationship, the combination of art, live performance and nature, culture as a driving force for civil society, and the theme of peace and integration between peoples. Its cultural and artistic focus takes the form of concerts, theatrical performances, shows by street artists and the new circus, book presentations, the presence of information stands by associations working to protect the territory and its resources (Sea Shepard, Ippoasi, Amici delle Alpi Apuane, Comitato per la difesa di Coltano), photographic exhibitions (Romano Cagnoni) and visual arts.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance on the CiaoTickets platform, but are always available during the days of the festival at the ticket office at the entrance to the Villa Medicea in Coltano from 6 pm.

The event is organised by Binario Vivo APS, an association that manages the Teatro Nuovo in Pisa in collaboration with the 'Parole Liberate' project financed by the Ministry of Justice and under the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa, the Region of Tuscany, the University of Pisa, UniCoop, and the Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli Natural Park.
