Palazzo Agonigi Scorno - Via S. Maria (L. Corevi, Comune di Pisa)
The building was erected in the 12th century according to a vertical scheme used in the maritime city, typical of tower houses. Unlike other buildings, Palazzo Da Scorno shows a novelty in the porch on the ground floor, no longer constituted by a full-centre or pointed arch, but by continuous walls in Verrucana stone with a central column supporting the lintel. Two levels of arches that enclose marble mullioned windows rest on the porch. The large bare capital on the ground floor is a work attributed to the master Guglielmo, as evidenced by the signature affixed to it, Guialeme. However, other analyses see the hand of Biduino, who allegedly left a curious mouse hidden under the leaves of the capital. The building suffered severe damage during the war.
