From 24 to 25 September, the space above Le Logge (Piazza XX Settembre) will host the first edition of 'PSPI - Pisa Street Photography International', a festival dedicated to the photographic genre of 'street photography'. The event is organised by the Tilt association of Pontedera, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa. The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for Saturday 24 September at 10.00 a.m. The councillor for culture of the Municipality of Pisa will also be present.
On show will be the finalist works of the international photography competition that took place last summer, selected by a jury composed in the first phase by Mario Mencacci, Roberto Bartolini, Simone Mantia, Massimiliano Faralli and Arez Prod, and in the final phase by Richard Bram (USA), Julia Coddington (Australia), Asli Gonen (Turkey), Julie Hrudová (Holland) and Alex Liverani (Italy). Many authors from Italy and abroad participated. During the Festival, in the Balearic Hall, prizes will be awarded to the best flash photography (11.15 am) and the best geometric photography (2.30 pm). Honourable mentions (3.30 pm) and the announcement of the contest winners (6.30 pm) are also scheduled. Also on the programme are meetings and lectures with important photographers. The series will be opened on Saturday 24 September by Salvatore Matarazzo, a professional photographer from Viareggio (Balearic Hall, 11.30 am), followed on Sunday 25 September by Debora Valentini (2.30 pm), Lorenzo Lessi (3.30 pm), Liliana Ranalletta (4.30 pm) and Richard Bram (5.30 pm).
On Sunday 25 September, two 'Photowalks' (starting at the entrance of the exhibition) with Julie Hrudova and Arez Prod (10.00 am) and with Stefano Mirabella and Mario Mencacci (11.30 am) are also scheduled.
The 'Photowalks' are free and open to all, but it is preferable to pre-register by emailing pspifestival@gmail.com.
