On the occasion of the Pisa Architecture Biennial, now in its fifth edition, the Museo della Grafica (University of Pisa, Pisa City Council) is hosting the exhibition The villas designed by Mies van der Rohe, curated by Renato Capozzi, Michele Caja and Luca Lanini.

"The Shared City: Architecture as a Tool for New Social Balances", is the focus and leitmotif of this edition of the Pisa Biennial, conceived and organised by the LP Association - Permanent Laboratory for the City, which will be held in various city venues offering meetings, conferences, readings and exhibitions from 13 to 29 October.

The exhibition hosted at Palazzo Lanfranchi focuses on the re-design on a chronological basis of the villas designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe during his career.

Some of the villa designs presented in this exhibition are partially unpublished and reconstructed from sketches available online in the MoMA archive.

The authors would like to thank the editorial editors Alberto Gatti and Oreste Lubrano for their work and the students of the Study Courses in Civil, Environmental and Building Engineering (a.y. 2016-17 and 2017-18) and in Building Engineering-Architecture at the University of Pisa (2018-19) for their passion, dedication and intelligence.

The exhibition will be open from 13 to 29 October, according to the Graphic Museum's opening hours: daily 9 am-7 pm.
