Pileri)Near the newsstand, at the top, we can see the frescoed face of a man: it is Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre (France 1787 - 1851), painter and theatre decorator. In 1824, Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerrebegan some experiments, with the collaboration of Joseph Niépce, French photographer and researcher, to fix the images shot through the dark room on sensitised supports.. In 1837 the daguerreotype was introduced and a couple of years later modern photography. In Pisa they began to talk about the new technique in 1839 on the occasion of First Congress of the Italian Scientists.
