The Pisa Synagogue and the Jewish cemetery in Piazza dei Miracoli are treasure troves of art and culture that tell the millennial story of the Pisan community. Located in the centre of Pisa, a stone's throw from the Verdi Theatre, the Synagogue of Pisa owes its current form to the restoration project by architect Marco Treves, carried out in the mid-19th century, but has been in this building since 1595. Visiting it is a journey into the history of Pisa's millenary Jewish community with the possibility of admiring unique objects such as the 16th-century Haron Ha Kodesh. The cemetery in Piazza dei Miracoli has been active since 1674 next to the Antiche Mura: separated from the square by the ancient Porta del Leone (Lion's Gate), which in the Middle Ages was the main access point into the city, it is characterised by a remarkable architectural variety. Inside are buried personalities who have made the history of Pisa.

Visits are available every Sunday with departures at 10.30, 11.30, 12.30 and 3.00 p.m. to the Jewish cemetery with optional reservation, at 5.00 p.m. to the Synagogue in Via Palestro with mandatory reservation. Tickets €4 for the Synagogue, €3 for the Jewish cemetery, €6 cumulative, €1 presale fee.
