Themed exhibitions, talks, meetings and screenings to celebrate Albanian culture in Italy. From Friday 28 April to Sunday 30 April, the Festival of Albanian Culture will take place in Logge di Banchi in Pisa. The initiative, organised by the Albanian Cultural Association of Pisa - La Grande Onda with the contribution of the 'Sami Frasheri' Institute of Tirana, is sponsored by the Municipality of Pisa and aims to highlight the participation of the Albanian community in the cultural, intellectual and civil life in Italy, and in particular in Pisa, as well as the mutual contribution made by Italy and illustrious Italian personalities throughout the history of Albania.

The three-day event will kick off on Friday 28 April at 12 noon with the signing, in the Rector's Office, of an agreement between the University of Pisa and the University of Tirana. At 3.00 p.m., the following exhibitions will be inaugurated in Logge di Banchi: "Il ponte di Otranto" by Genc Permeti; "Sulla Pelle" by Marlin Dedaj curated by Giorgio Caione; Guri Madhi - Exhibition of author's proofs curated by Pandi Madhi; Habaz Hado - Exhibition of graphic art curated by Pandi Madhi. The exhibitions will end on Sunday 30 April.

On Saturday 29 April from 3.00 p.m., talk shows in the Logge di Banchi with the participation of leading figures from the worlds of politics, history, journalism and economics. At 7 p.m., an aperitif with typical Albanian cuisine at the Albarossa restaurant.

Sunday 30 April, at 6 p.m., at the Cinema Arsenale, the screening of the film 'Sworn Virgin' by Laura Bispur. Filmed between Albania and Bolzano, the film is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Elvira Dones and tells a story that is both ancient and modern at the same time, where the Kanun, the most important Albanian customary code, meets up with the problems of gender identity that are as topical as ever.
