Sunday 6 October sees the renewal of the appointment with Sunday at the Museum, the Ministry of Culture initiative that allows free entry, every first Sunday of the month, to state museums and archaeological parks.
The National Museum of San Matteo will be open from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (last entrance at 1 p.m.). https://cultura.gov.it/luogo/museo-nazionale-di-san-matteo
At 11 a.m. professor Marco Collareta will present one of the most precious works preserved in the museum collection, ‘Saint Francis and Stories of his Miracles’, attributed to Giunta Pisano. The work is one of the oldest panels dedicated to the patron saint of Italy, who died in 1226 and was immediately beatified in 1228. It is therefore a portrait of the saint executed by a painter contemporary with him.
The National Museum of the Royal Palace will be open from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (last entrance at 1 p.m.) and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.. https://cultura.gov.it/luogo/museo-nazionale-di-palazzo-reale
