On Saturday, January 17, Pisa renews its traditional celebration of the Day of Saint Anthony the Abbot, one of the oldest tradition in the city's history, always linked to the world of the Game of the Bridge and its rites.

The day will open at 11:00 am at Palazzo Gambacorti, in the Sala Umberto Moschini, with a historical lecture entitled “Saint Anthony the Abbot and the Game of the Bridge, Historical and Symbolic Bond”, presented by the Noble Magistrates of San Martino and Sant'Antonio, with presentations by Renzo Ciangherotti, Alberto Zampieri, and Ferruccio Bertolini.

In the afternoon, at 4:15 pm, the investiture ceremony of the Captains of the Noble Magistrates of the Game of the Bridge will take place under the Logge di Banchi (in case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the Balearic Hall of Palazzo Gambacorti).
Following this, at 5:30 pm, the Gioco del Ponte historical procession will set off, crossing the city center heading towards the Church of Sant'Antonio.

Here, at 6:00 pm, holy mass will be held for the feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot, a pre-holiday Eucharistic celebration promoted by the Friends of the Bridge Game Association, in the presence of city authorities, the Municipal Banner, and representatives of the Game in historic attire.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the Town Hall will be decorated. The municipal administration also invites citizens to display the Pisa flag from their homes, as a shared sign of participation in the historic anniversary.
