Even in winter, beech martens, insects, birds and many other animals populate the Walls, an ecological corridor in the city centre waiting to be discovered. Sunday 22 January 'Four Seasons on the Walls - Winter': from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. Silvia Sorbi and Marco Zuffi of the University of Pisa's Museum of Natural History will lead a nature walk dedicated to the natural and semi-natural micro-environments present along the high walkway. During the walk, participants will be guided in observing and recognising the rocks that make up the Walls, the plants in their winter guise and various animal traces. Departure from the Torre di Legno behind Piazza del Rosso and arrival in Piazza dei Miracoli where you can enjoy the spectacle of the monuments in the light of sunset.

Tickets at 10 euro including entrance to the Walls of Pisa, 1.50 euro for reservation fee. This initiative is the result of the collaboration and agreement between Mura di Pisa and the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa, a collaboration that already provides cross-discounts for people visiting both tourist sites during normal opening hours.

The Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa is located in the charming Certosa di Calci and is one of the oldest museums in the world. Founded at the end of the 16th century as a 'Gallery' annexed to the Giardino dei Semplici in Pisa (today's Botanical Garden), the Museum has enriched its collections over the centuries and today holds a heritage of enormous historical and scientific value.

CoopCulture, Cooperativa Itinera and Promocultura constitute the association of enterprises that manages the high walkway of the Ancient Walls of Pisa. Built between the 12th and 13th centuries, the Walls of Pisa are an example of the military architecture of the time, a sign of the greatness of the Pisan Republic and today a privileged vantage point from which to admire the city.
