As part of the collaboration between the National Museums of Pisa and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya on the occasion of the exhibition Sant Pere de Rodes i el Mestre de Cabestany: la creació d'un mite (Barcelona, March-June 2026), the Museo Nazionale di San Matteo is exhibiting, on temporary loan, the Paliotto degli Arcangeli (1225-1250), a masterpiece of Catalan art.
With its elegant and dynamic figures, the work reflects the profound renewal of Romanesque painting that swept across Europe around the year 1200.

The illustrious guest is placed in relation to other works in the collection, which bear witness to the circulation of techniques and cults in the Mediterranean, and will be on display from 10 March to 30 June 2026.
