From 31 October to 14 November 2025 The State Archives of Pisa celebrates the 260° anniversary of the accession to the throne of Peter Leopold of Habsburg Lorraine with an exhibition that recounts his profound bond with the city, in collaboration with the Institution of the Knights of St. Stefano, the Marine Academy and with the support of the Pisa Foundation and Palazzo Blu,

At Palazzo Toscanelli, a journey through documents, maps and original testimonies to rediscover the dialogue between the Grand Duke and the city, from major urban planning projects such as the construction of the Rossi Theatre, to the relationship with the Pisan University, up to the complex period of institutional reforms and suppressions of royal bodies that marked an era of profound changes.
A journey through history, culture and reforms that have contributed to shaping modern Tuscany.
