The Municipality of Pisa, Department for Equal Opportunities, in cooperation with the City Council for Equal Opportunities has organised the 'March of Women' programme of initiatives. The programme includes numerous appointments and events that will continue from Friday 8 March until next Thursday 28 March

The programme of events includes film screenings, theatre performances, conferences on the topics of gender-based violence, restorative justice, disability and art, gender-based medicine, arts and crafts, female entrepreneurship and inclusive entrepreneurship.

The Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Fondazione Palazzo Blu and the Opera Primaziale del Domo offer free visits for the day of Friday 8 March to the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, the free ticket of the permanent exhibition of Palazzo Blu and the 50% discount for the visit of the exhibition "The Avant-garde" set up in Palazzo Blu.

FRIDAY 8 MARCH

10 a.m. - Sala delle Baleari of Palazzo Gambacorti

  • distribution of mimosas and greetings to employees; 

1.30 p.m. - Via Don Bosco 43 Prison House organised by the Equal Opportunities Department

  • visit to the inmates and employees of the Don Bosco prison house

2 p.m.- 7 p.m. - Lanteri Cinema Caffè in collaboration with Equal Opportunities Committee of the Pisa Bar Association/Rotary Club of Pisa

  • FEARLESS FORUM - Women who inspire change
  • Round table and free screening of the documentary Geeta

4 p.m. - Museo della Grafica in collaboration with University of Pisa

  • National premiere in English - staged reading Maryland by Lucy Kirkwoo. What fresh hell do you need. Before you are as angry as we are?

A chorus of contemporary Furies to shout "enough" to violence against women. Free admission Reservation required: boxoffice.maryland@gmail.com. A 30-minute performance by students from the University of Pisa to express the author's knee-jerk reaction to a series of feminicides that shocked the UK in 2021.

For this occasion, a number of fashion items by Valentino, Chanel, YSL and Cardin will be on display from 22 to 31 March.
