In winter, the Walls take on soft colours, the vegetation changes to resist the harshest climate, as well as the habits of the animal species that over the centuries have adapted to live in this monument: beasts, weasels, lizards and various species of birds. To explore the city walls from a naturalistic point of view, to discover this semi-natural ecosystem in the heart of the city, on Sunday 28 January ‘Four seasons on the Walls special winter‘, a special guided tour with Marco Zuffi and Silvia Sorbi of the Museum of Natural History of the University of Pisa. 

Departure at 2.30 pm from the Torre di Legno and end in Piazza dei Miracoli reddened by the sun at sunset, in case of bad weather the visit will be recovered the following Sunday. Comfortable shoes, water, a hat and binoculars are recommended.

Tickets at 10 euros including entrance to the Walls of Pisa, 1.50 euros for the right of reservation.

In case of adverse weather conditions the event will be postponed until Sunday, February 4, 2024.

The initiative is the result of the collaboration between the Walls of Pisa and the Museum of Natural History of the University of Pisa, a collaboration that already provides cross discounts for people who visit both tourist sites during normal opening hours.
