On Tuesday 17 March 2026, the Blu Book bookshop in Pisa will host the opening of Essenza, a solo exhibition by artist Elisa Bertaccini.

The exhibition will be open until 7 April 2026, with free admission.

The exhibition offers a sensory “journey” through vibrant brushstrokes and colours, exploring the indissoluble link between the inner universe and nature. A visual investigation in which emotions take shape through colours, where nature becomes a mirror and a refuge for the soul. The figures represented are an integral part of an emotional ecosystem where animals and nature act as a mirror of the unconscious, bringing out that intimate dialogue between the soul and the surrounding landscape. 
Most of the canvases on display featuring female subjects were painted in oil. The others, depicting animals, plants and landscapes in vivid colours, were painted with acrylics using the artist's fingers.

THE ARTIST. Elisa Bertaccini, born in Pisa in 1980, has always had a passion for drawing and painting. In 2011, she attended the Academy of Art in Pisa, where she learned and refined her graphic and painting techniques.
Her painting is an exploration of the indissoluble link between the inner universe and nature. Through her canvases, she seeks to give shape to feelings, transforming emotion into colour and nature into a refuge for the soul.
