THE EXHIBITION HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 30 AUGUST 2026.
The Museo della Grafica is delighted to host the winning entries from the six editions of the Communication and Creativity Competition on the theme of climate change, organised by the Interdepartmental Centre for the Study of the Effects of Climate Change (CIRSEC) at the University of Pisa, which promotes research, advanced training and the dissemination of scientific knowledge on the themes of climate change, sustainability and the resilience of natural and human-made systems.
Thanks to an interdisciplinary approach involving researchers from numerous departments across the University, the Centre carries out studies and projects dedicated to the impacts of climate change on ecosystems, cities, agriculture, health and the local environment, fostering dialogue between science, institutions, schools and civil society.
It is against this backdrop that the Communication and Creativity Competition on the theme of climate change was launched, aimed at final-year students in upper secondary schools. Now in its sixth edition in 2026, the competition aims to encourage reflection on climate change through the mediums of fiction and illustration, highlighting the sensitivity, creativity and expressive abilities of the younger generation.
The entries tackle the theme of climate change from different perspectives, transforming scientific knowledge, personal experiences and visions of the future into stories and images capable of engaging and moving the viewer. Each edition rewards the best entries with a waiver of the enrolment fee at the University of Pisa, as recognition of merit and an incentive to continue their studies.
The exhibition brings together, for the first time, the winning entries from the six editions of the competition, offering a testament to the dialogue between science and creativity. Through this initiative, CIRSEC reaffirms its commitment to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness, recognising the vital role of the younger generations in tackling climate challenges.
The exhibition will open on Monday 27 July at 5.30 pm and will be open to the public, in accordance with the museum’s opening hours, until Sunday 30 August.
