On Thursday, 6 March 2025, at 9 p.m., at the Circolo Putignano, the Associazione Astrofili Galileo Galilei will hold the popular meeting ‘Women on the Moon’, organised by Maria Argentiero.

The Apollo missions brought 12 astronauts to the moon. All men.
Women have not yet been physically on the Moon, but we will discover that, since the 16th century, many women have explored our satellite in literary, scientific and artistic works. We will get to know and celebrate these women, as we await the landing of the first female astronaut on the Moon planned for the Artemis III mission. The meeting is open to all.

Followed by a screening of the silent film ‘Cosmic Journey’ (1936) by director Vasilij Nikolaevič Žuravlёv.
