The Olympic flame for the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, returning after twenty years, is arriving on the streets of Pisa.
On Friday, December 12, starting at 3:30 PM, more than twenty torchbearers will take turns in a relay until they reach Piazza del Duomo, where the Olympic cauldron will be lit. The mayor of Pisa, Michele Conti, the sports councillor, Frida Scarpa, and Filippo Macchi, Olympic silver medalist in foil, will be in attendance.
The route of the Olympic flame in Pisa will wind through the streets of the historic center, starting from the SMS Exhibition Center on the Piagge, continuing to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Corso Italia, Borgo Stretto, Piazza dei Cavalieri, Largo del Parlascio, and finally Piazza del Duomo. The culminating moment, with the lighting of the Olympic cauldron beneath the Tower, is scheduled for around 4:30 PM.
