On Wednesday 23 November, the Walls of Pisa will participate in Fibonacci Day, the initiative dedicated to the great Pisan mathematician, which is celebrated on this day because the date in the American notation 11/23 commemorates the beginning of the famous series. The high-altitude walkway will be open in an extraordinary way, with free admission for residents, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last possible access at 4.30 p.m.
The Walls will also host, along with other city venues, the widespread exhibition of the works of artist Giorgio Piccaia, who has been painting the Fibonacci numbers for decades and whose project will be presented in the Sala delle Baleari. The Municipality of Pisa's programme of initiatives also includes the presentation of a book for schools at the State Archives, an artistic work at the Officine Garibaldi, and dedicated Fibonacci seminars organised by the University of Pisa.
