Free guided tours of the museum collection at 9 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.
Particular attention will be paid to the painting by Antonio di Francesco, known as Antonio Veneziano, documented in Tuscany from 1384 to 1388, depicting the "Assumption of the Virgin", c. 1384-1388, tempera and gold on panel, from the convent of San Tommaso, Pisa.
In the iconographic composition of the Assumption, the artist reflects a scheme widely used in Siena, derived from a lost wall painting created by Simone Martini in the first half of the 14th century.
