Sunday 7 January sees the renewal of the appointment with Sunday at the Museum, the Ministry of Culture initiative that allows free admission, every first Sunday of the month, to state museums and archaeological parks.
The National Museum of San Matteo will be open from 9 am to 1:30 pm (last entrance at 1 pm).
At 11 am appointment with 'Arabic inscriptions in the works of the Museo Nazionale di San Matteo', a dialogue with Mariagiulia Burresi and Mohammad Abuhashish. The meeting concludes a series of initiatives that have retraced the stages of relations between our city and the Islamic Mediterranean in the medieval period, organised as part of the event "Pisa and the Arab world", State Archives of Pisa and the National Museum of St. Matthew, in collaboration with the University of Pisa, from 23 November 2023 to 24 January 2024.
The National Museum of Palazzo Reale will be open from 9 am to 1:30 pm (last admission at 1 pm).
At 11 am, a free guided tour themed 'Portraits of Power' through which we will learn more about this particular type of portrait, its functions and meanings.
The museums of the Sistema Museale d'Ateneo will also have free admission:
Botanic Garden and Museum, open from 8:30 am to 5 pm (last admission at 4 pm)
Museo della Grafica, open from 9 am to 7 pm. It is possible to visit three current exhibitions:
- Towers- Sergei Tchoban (10 November 2023-25 February 2024)
- Fashion, Sport, Tourism (5 July 2023-28 January 2024)
- For Tono Zancanaro
Egyptological Collections, open from 3 pm to 6 pm.
