THE MUSEUM
The Veterinary Anatomical Museum was founded in Pisa in 1839 together with the Chair of Zooiatrics attached to the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pisa. The Museum houses exhibits (skeletons, dried, stuffed and preserved in alcohol) of animal species for zootechnical production and pets, especially the horse, due to its importance in the historical-social evolution of man. There are also many anatomical preparations concerning dromedaries from the San Rossore estate.
