With the arrival of summer returns the cycle of appointments Aperitivo with Italian comics within the review Comics & Popcorn, directed by Alessandra Ioalè, as always dedicated to the memory of the cartoonist Tuono Pettinato, who came to his eleventh year, explores the marriage between comics and cinema through giveaways, screenings and meetings with great masters and young talents.
Three free-entry meetings that will be held in Pisa in the large urban garden La Nunziatina, in the historic center, with some of the most interesting authors of the ninth contemporary art.
It starts on Monday, July 7 at 7 p.m. with the cartoonist Eliana Albertini, who in a meeting moderated by journalist Guido Siliotto will present his new graphic novel Tutto sotto controllo, edited by Rizzoli Lizard, which tells the story of Nora, A 30-year-old woman who, having reached the pinnacle of control in her life, is convinced that she has lost everything.
Second appointment Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m. with the presentation of the comic book transposition of the novel The pavilion on the dunes by R.L. Stevenson by the well-known couple of cartoonists Lise & Talami (Alessandro Lise and Alberto Talami) made for Baya Comics, Moderated by Maurizio Vaccaro. The story sees Frank Cassilis, a young vagabond fleeing from all human contact, returning to the Scottish village where his old friend Northmour lives, owner of an ancient stone pavilion, on which remains an aura of mystery. Not imagining being involved in a deadly siege in the company of the only person who will prove to be both a formidable ally and a formidable rival.
To close the cycle of events will be Saturday, July 19 at 7 pm the master of comics Massimo Giacon, who in a meeting moderated by prof. Fabio Gadducci will present his 366, a unique project collected in a book available in 366 copies, made in collaboration between Antonio Colombo Contemporary Art and the Giampaolo Abbondio Gallery, which saw the artist engaged every day of 2024 to draw and comment on the most important news of the day between politics, current affairs, entertainment and much more.
The 2025 edition of Comics & Popcorn is made with the contribution of Fondazione Pisa and UniCoopFirenze, in collaboration with the Department of Civilization and Forms of Knowledge of the University of Pisa, Fondazione Tuono Pettinato, Libreria Ghibellina and Baya Comics.
