As part of the initiatives for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Italy from Nazi-Fascism, the Scuola Normale is staging, from 28 April to 4 May, an exhibition that winds its way through the corridors of the Palazzo della Carovana: a selection of the stories that cartoonist and illustrator Alberto Pagliaro has dedicated to the lives of partisans and partisan women, originally published in the monthly magazine Il Vernacoliere from 2007 to 2011.

Inauguration on 28 April at 6.30 p.m. in the Sala Stemmi (Palazzo della Carovana) during which there will be a meeting with the author and Adriana Nannicini, president of the ANPI Section of Pisa, which has sponsored the initiative.

THE ARTIST. Alberto Pagliaro was born in Florence in 1972. Cartoonist and illustrator, he obtained a Master of Art Diploma in Fashion and Costume at the Art Institute of Florence. He has published in Italy for Selen, Kaos, Shock Magazine, Baribal, Next Exit, Black, Blue, Maxim, Il Vernacoliere, ActionAid Magazine. In 2000 he began his collaboration with the most important international publishing houses and art foundations: Casterman, Delcourt, Dupuis, Disney, Coconino press, Kstr, Dargaud, Glénat, Sergio Bonelli Editore, Oxford University Press, Image Comics, Teatro Comunale di Modena ‘Luciano Pavarotti’. He is Artistic Director and lecturer in Comics and Illustration at TheSign - Comics & Arts Academy in Florence and the Trossi-Uberti Art Foundation in Livorno.
